Rick Najera’s long-running, live inspirational show, Latino Thought Makers, will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with a special conversation with award-winning actor and entrepreneur, Danny Trejo on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 6:30pm at Morton College in its JPAC Theatre, 3801 S Central Ave, Cicero, IL 60804.
Tickets are $10 and all proceeds go toward the Morton College H.O.P.E. Scholarship. The HOPE Scholarship provides financial assistance those students who do not qualify for financial aid an opportunity to continue their education.
Latino Thought Makers, created and hosted by award-winning writer, performer Rick Najera, features live conversations with award-winning and inspirational Latino / Latina personalities as well a roster of multicultural special guests. Latino Thought Makers is the original show highlighting cultural success stories and provides a platform and path for the younger generations to become motivated and encouraged to enter college, graduate and lead successful lives and careers.
Special guest Danny Trejo has developed a prolific career in the entertainment industry with a hard-earned and atypical road to success. From years of imprisonment to helping troubled youth battle drug additions, from acting to producing and now on to restaurant ventures, Trejo’s name, face and achievements are well-recognized in Hollywood and beyond. Trejo has starred in films like Machete, Machete Kills, Desperado, Heat, the From Dusk Till Dawn series, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, the Spy Kids movies, and many more. He’s had recurring roles on Sons of Anarchy, King of the Hill, Breaking Bad, and The Flash to name a few. When Trejo isn’t on screen, he’s getting his hands in other hustles, like recently expanding his Trejo’s Tacos empire in Los Angeles area, as well as Trejo’s Coffee & Donuts. Danny also plays continuous roles as a devoted father of three and an intervention counselor.
